Description
The Celestron CGX is a German equatorial mount designed for advanced amateur and professional astronomers. It is a high-performance mount that can support telescopes weighing up to 55 pounds.
One of the key features of the Celestron CGX mount is its precision worm-gear drive system and its high-resolution encoders. This drive system allows for smooth and accurate tracking of celestial objects, making it ideal for long-exposure astrophotography and observation. The encoders provide precise positioning information for Go-To and tracking capabilities.
The Celestron CGX mount has a sturdy and durable construction, with a heavy-duty aluminum tripod and tripod legs that can be adjusted to different heights. The mount head has a Vixen-style dovetail saddle that can accommodate a wide range of telescopes.
The mount also has a built-in bubble level and compass, which helps with the initial setup and alignment of the mount. It also has a built-in metal RA and DEC clutch that allows for easy and precise movement of the telescope, and a polar scope to aid in polar alignment.
The Celestron CGX mount also has a number of advanced features like a built-in GPS receiver, a permanent periodic error correction, and an advanced PEC training function. It also has an available Go-To computerized control system, which allows the user to easily point the telescope to any object in the sky with the push of a button.
