Description
The Orion SkyQuest XT6 is a classic Dobsonian telescope, known for its simplicity and affordability. It is a popular choice for beginner astronomers, as it is easy to use and provides clear, detailed views of the night sky.
The XT6 features a 6-inch diameter primary mirror, which is capable of gathering a significant amount of light. This allows the telescope to provide clear, detailed views of a wide range of celestial objects, including planets, galaxies, nebulae, and more.
One of the standout features of the XT6 is its simple design. It utilizes a Dobsonian mount, which consists of a simple alt-azimuth mount attached to a sturdy base. This allows users to easily move the telescope to different parts of the sky simply by pushing or pulling it, without the need for complex motorized tracking systems.
The XT6 also has a wide field of view, allowing users to see more of the night sky at once. It also comes with a 25mm eyepiece, which provides a magnification of 48x, and a 10mm eyepiece, which provides a magnification of 120x. These eyepieces allow users to easily switch between low and high magnification views of celestial objects.
- Simple hands-on, point-and-view navigation without complicating counterweights, gears, clutches, polar alignment, or the need to balance the tube. Easy and fun
- Big 6″-diameter parabolic mirror excels for Moon and planetary views, and has enough light grasp for deep-sky viewing of nebulas, galaxies, and star clusters
- Features a precision 2″ Crayford focuser with 1.25″ adapter, allowing use of 1.25″ eyepieces or optional 2″ eyepieces
- Stable Dobsonian base provides vibration-free images even when viewing at a high powers, and features smooth motions to make manual tracking of celestial objects a breeze
- This kit includes some excellent value-added accessories to enhance your experience: Orion Shorty 2x Barlow (for double the magnification), Orion’s MoonMap 260, DeepMap 600, and Telescope Observer’s Guide, a RedBeam Mini flashlight, and a smartphone photo adapter for taking pictures through the telescope’s eyepiece
